12 oz. Nerikomi Mug

Speckled clay is the background for this earth toned mug.

Layers of colored porcelain clay were stacked together to create the nerikomi pattern. I took thin slices of the cane and inlaid them into speckled clay. The slab of inlaid clay was hand built into a mug and shaped on the wheel. The handle also has the nerikomi pattern.
